since 2005 : Scott Fields Ensemble: various formations around the American guitarist (currently based in Cologne)

2002 – 2006 and onwards : Helios String Quartet (Stuttgart) – Ulrike Stortz, violin;  Felix Borel, violin; Gareth Lubbe, viola/overtone singing; Scott Roller, cello

since 2000 : Mike Svoboda Ensemble in many formations. My work and personal friendship with Mike go back to 1983, should the truth be known (as we both showed up in Germany).

since 1994 : Ensemble >gelberklang< (Stuttgart) - Albrecht Imbescheid, flute(s); Thomas Reil, clarinet(s); Ulrike Stortz, violin; Scott Roller, cello; Jürgen Kruse, piano; Michael Kiedaisch, percussion

1992 – 2002 and onwards: Wolpe Trio (Essen) -  Lesley Olson, flute(s); Scott Roller, cello; Susanne Achilles, piano

1990 – 1995 : Synthese (Essen) – an ensemble for free improvisation made up of Gary Verkade, keyboards/synthesizers/computer; Matthias Geuting, piano; Scott Roller, cello/synthesizers and sometimes Ludwig Kaiser, organ

1987 – 1989 and onwards to the late 90s : Dortmund Philharmonic – nevermind

1980 – 1983 : BL Lacerta improvisation quartet (Dallas, Texas, USA) – a formative ensemble in my development, establishing once and for all a concept, a feeling, an experience of improvisation as collective interactive real-time composition
